I rain dance for the drought of you
Blackbirds die in the wells of your eyes
Your chemical love
pin cushions your heart a toxic beating
Your kisses now give a death cold twist
for nothing is left in you
but the death
of you
Your spirit
I watched
Slowly committed suicide
Still is your pin cushion heart
Toxic beatings bruise the cruise
of your life
now a drought
Your hollow words
scream at me
I rain dance for the drought of you
Blackbirds die in the wells of your eyes
Your chemical love
pin cushions your heart a toxic beating
Your kisses now give a death cold twist
for nothing is left in you
but the death
of you
Your spirit
I watched
Slowly committed suicide
Still is your pin cushion heart
Toxic beatings bruise the cruise
of your life
now a drought
Your hollow words
scream at me
I rain dance for the drought of you
I love that opening (and closing!) line, excellent!
ReplyDeleteGreat imagery! Awesome blog by the way :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very cool poem! It's real poetry!
ReplyDeleteI have a visual picture with this poem...the dark well of the eyes...silver glitter coming out of them...it is sad.
ReplyDeleteI love this Beez!
ReplyDeleteRain dance for drought!! how fantastic an idea!! this paradox of poetry "Your kisses now give a death cold twist" lets a chill run down one's spine. The cruelty of words is softened by the cause for such anguish. Terrifying, full of anguish and brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteThese words resonate, whether they are for the ecology of Earth, or the "ecology" of a toxic being. Angst, originally expressed. Write on!
ReplyDeleteLove that "Your hollow words scram at me" So very real and so well said.
ReplyDeleteOh...Beez, how beautiful a poem this is! (oshum) :)
